The weather has finally settled down if forecasts are to believe and all three senior sides are in action today. Two of the teams travel to far flung locations while the First Team hold fort on the Little Knavesmire.
The First Team are sole representatives for Ovington teams playing in South Bank on Saturday and they face Clifton Alliance, who have dipped in form over the past few weeks and have lost five games this season, sitting in mid-table. They can be a tricky test depending on availability in their teams further up the pyramid.
Ovington would like to thank David Brummitt for his sponsorship of today’s game vs Clifton Alliance. David was a stalwart of the club for many years, inducted into the Vale League Hall Of Fame in 2015. He is a well-respected Plumber serving York and beyond – he can be contacted on 07836 713827.
Lots of our sponsors have social media accounts on Facebook/Twitter – especially for all the support they have given the club over the past few months. If you wish, please give them a like/follow.

For the Second Team, they face what is one of the least anticipated away trips when they go to Burythorpe to play against Stamford Bridge. The reverse fixture early in the season was controversial as Stamford Bridge were wanting to play on in terrible conditions. Stamford Bridge are involved in the race for promotion out of Division Two so a win for both teams would go a long way to achieving that. Ovington look to have a strong side for the journey and it is to be hoped that they can put the Stamford Bridge attack to the sword.
The Third Team play their third game in the Group B of the Third Division and make the trip to Burn. These two played against each other on the opening weekend of the season and in a tight game, Ovington managed to reach the target total with a couple of wickets remaining. Ovo players will be familiar with 3-4 of the Burn side as they played a big part in Selby’s win against our Thirds only a few weeks ago.
