Ovington’s Junior Presentation Evening took place on Thursday at the South Bank Social Club with Yorkshire Batsman Jack Leaning, a regular starter throughout the past couple of seasons, on hand to present the trophies.
Tim Burgess and Finn Baqai were the main winners in the U15’s team as they picked up the Batting and Bowling trophies respectively, with both players also making their mark in the Senior Sides in 2016. Joshua Blower was also the recipient of the Matthew Hamer Memorial Trophy, which is given to the Most Outstanding Under 9’s Player in that year. Each Ovington Junior Member also received a medal, so for those unable to make it, you should be able to collect yours at a later date.
Chairman, Alan Fletcher said of the evening “All at the club would like to thank Jack Leaning for coming along and for him to be here to award the trophies, we wish him all the success for Yorkshire and hopefully for England in 2017. It made the night of many of our young players to meet him. I’d also like to thank all the Juniors and their Parents for their support of Ovington Cricket Club in 2016, and look forward to seeing them all over the course of 2017”
