Firstly, I must apologise to everyone for the delay in sending out this Newsletter
Many thanks to the following businesses who have supported Ovington Cricket Club in 2016
Preparations are underway for the 2017 season. The club would hope to run the same number or more teams than we did in 2016. Therefore, we are appealing to all parents who may wish to help out more in 2017 to please do get in touch. We have several roles available, some that will only take up a few minutes of your time each week, but are vital to the smooth continued running of Ovington Junior Cricket Club.
We are holding an informal meeting for any interested volunteers on Thursday 8th December at 7:30pm at the South Bank Social Club, which will last hopefully less than an hour.
To help us know more about numbers for next season, if your child is not going to participate for Ovington next season, could you please let us know.
The Junior Presentation Evening will take place on Thursday 19th January 2017 at 7pm, at the South Bank Social Club, on Ovington Terrace.
As in past years, all junior members will receive a medal for the 2016 season. There will also be a raffle, so any prizes that could be donated would be gratefully appreciated. Handing out medals at 7:30pm for the younger ones and it will all be over by 9pm.
The reason we have delayed the Presentation for last season until January, is that we hope to get a Yorkshire County player to present the awards, and they are not back in training until around then. We’re hoping there will be photo opportunities on the night too.
If you have any questions, please do let me know.
Indoor Nets will be the same format as last year, taking place on a Sunday at Millthorpe School Sports Hall. The First session will be on Sunday 5th February, with ten sessions in total. Each age-group will run at the following times.
Under 9’s and Under 11’s Soft Ball – 16:00 – 17:00
Under 11’s Hard Ball and Under 13’s – 17:00 – 18:00
Under 15’s & Seniors – 18:00 – 19:00
The cost of each session is the same as last year, £2.50 per session. Alternatively you can pay £20 for all ten sessions, saying £5.
If anybody has, or knows anyone, with any Architectural skills, the club would be interested in their input to the proposed pavilion extension. Please let me know if this is something you can help with.
