The Under 11’s Hard-Ball team ended their 2015 campaign with a victory away at Pocklington last Monday.
Pocklington, batting first, were restricted to just 43. There was some extremely economical bowling by Jack Walmsley, Finn Baqai and Oliver Steel, with some good fielding all round, including several catches, all contributing to the effort.
In response, Ovington’s batting all chipped in with some runs and importantly they didn’t lose too many wickets. The last pairing of Charles Tighe and Finn Baqai put the game to bed with a partnership of 38, with Tighe top scoring with 24, to secure the victory.
It brought the season to a close with a record of five wins and four losses, and with a cup semi-final run in there too, it has made for a decent season for the Under 11’s hard ball team.
